Roofing in Cumbria, and why so many people put it off
Cumbrian weather is hard on a roof. Wind off the Solway, rain most of the winter, and old slate on houses that were built long before anybody thought about felt underneath.
So roofs here fail. That part is normal. What isn’t normal is how hard it is to get somebody out to look at one. People ring three firms, hear back from none, and end up sticking a bucket in the loft for another year.
We built this website to take that bit out. You describe the job and send a photo of it at whatever hour suits you, and it lands with our office as a complete record rather than a name and a number scribbled on a pad. Whoever rings you back already knows what they’re looking at.
After that it’s ordinary roofing. We come and survey it, we tell you what’s wrong, and we put a price in writing. If the honest answer is that it’ll last another five years with a repair, that’s what we’ll tell you.
